Peterson & VandenBerg Environmental is a full service environmental consulting firm. We use our over 30 years of extensive knowledge of permitting and regulatory issues to help our clients meet their project or development goals.

Peterson & VandenBerg Environmental specializes in wetland identification and delineation, critical dune and high risk erosion evaluations, shoreline evaluations, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) permit application assistance, expert witness, tree surveys, wetland mitigation and restoration design, wetland mitigation construction observation, wetland mitigation monitoring, and threatened and endangered species evaluations.

Adrienne Peterson, Member & Director

Adrienne has over 20 years of consulting experience specializing in overall project management, including wetland delineations, critical dune and high risk erosion evaluations, shoreline evaluations, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit assistance, expert witness, wetland restoration and mitigation design, wetland construction observation and monitoring. Her experience and expertise allows her to provide clients with first rate services. She formed Peterson Environmental in 2008, after working for 10 years as a project manager with another highly respected environmental consulting firm. Prior to working as a consultant, Adrienne worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 4 years conducting wetland delineations, structure evaluations, and permit application reviews along Lake Michigan.

  • B.S. in Biology, Grand Valley State University, 1995

  • Inter-agency Wetland Delineation Training, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 

  • Wetland Construction and Restoration Wetland Training Institute

Zach VandenBerg, Member & Senior Project Manager 

 Zach's project experience and regulatory knowledge provides clients with efficient and effective consulting services. Zach has been with the company for over 5 years. He specializes in complete project oversight, with extensive experience in Critical Dune & High Risk Erosion Areas, wetland delineation, wetland mitigation monitoring, and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) permit assistance.

Education: 

  • B.S. in Natural Resources Management, Grand Valley State University, 2017

                               Specialized Training:

  • Certified in Wetland Delineations through the Michigan Wetlands Association

Ryan Yahner, Environmental Consulting Assisant 

As an Integral part of our environmental consulting team, Ryan is excited to leverage his knowledge and find new ways to assist our clients. His experience in GIS and being an outdoor guide makes him a valuable asset.

Laurel has experience in wetland delineations, environmental permitting, and sand dune assessments. With a Bachelor's in Biology and proven experience, she excels in managing projects, navigating regulations, and delivering top-notch results. Her strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability ensure client satisfaction and project success.

With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, Erica supports our senior consultants in conducting environmental assessments, Wetland Delineations, and helping to formulate innovative solutions for our clients.
